At PEACE OF MIND, we recognize that today’s seniors want to live and age on their own terms. We specialize in assessing your home for potential risk factors; we make recommendations to reduce risks, and propose options for your changing needs.
After the assessment is completed, we will provide you with a detailed, written report of our findings. You will also receive a binder with general information and resources for the aging population.

About us

Karin Himstedt – Founder and Owner of Peace of Mind, LLC
Karin started her professional career with volunteer organizations where engaing with seniors was always prominent. Eventually Karin transitioned into the long-term-care field, providing psycho-social support to people through the end of their lives. During this time Karin earned a post baccalaureate degree in Nursing Home Administration from Kent State University.
Being keenly aware that many seniors never prepare for their changing needs and their aging process, Karin seized the opportunity to train with Age Safe America and to launch Peace of Mind, LLC in order to pursue her passion: to bring seniors, their families and friends comfort and confidence as they live through the final season of their lives.

Rates and Services

Plus applicable sales tax – Installment plans available

Comprehensive Home Safety Assessment

  • $250 for homes up to 2,500 sqft
  • $325 for homes larger than 2,500 sqft
  • $120 for apartments up to 1,200 sqft

Add on services

  • $120 - 90 minute monthly check in service – simple maintenance and upkeep of the home; $99 if purchased for 3 months
    (limited spots available)

Our process

  • Request your comprehensive Home Safety Assessment through our Book Online portal or text/call.
  • After your booking we will follow up with a phone call to schedule your assessment and to gather some initial information.
    A $75 deposit is required at this time.
  • Following the completion of the Home Safety Assessment we will provide you with a detailed, written report about our findings and recommendations.
  • We offer referrals for professional contractors for any physical modifications .
  • • FALLS are the leading cause of death due to injury for those over 65.
  • • FALLS account for 25% of all hospital and 40% of all nursing home admissions.
  • • 100% of ER doctors agree a Home Safety Assessment is very important
  • • Investing in fall prevention means money saved on costly medical treatments or
